Former editor joins Saltwater team
Well-known writer and editor joins Saltwater’s growing team
Following a period of significant growth, we’ve expanded our workforce by taking on a well-known yachting journalist and former magazine editor, David Pugh. He will be working across both the leisure and commercial sectors, and brings a wealth of technical and maritime experience to the team.
Having initially studied physics at university, followed by an MSc in telecommunications engineering, David joined IPC Magazines on a scholarship which enabled him to learn the ropes, working across the firm’s portfolio of yachting titles. This led to a permanent role as a technical writer for Yachting World for three years, before he joined the nation’s best-selling sailing magazine, Practical Boat Owner, where he spent almost a decade as deputy editor and then editor.
David says: “I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to join Saltwater Stone and to work alongside colleagues I have liked and respected for many years. I look forward to the challenges this new role will bring, to making new business relationships and to renewing long-standing acquaintances within the industry.”

A keen sailor in his free time, David bought his latest boat, a Scanmar 345, in Holland last summer and brought her down through the Dutch canals and across the Channel to Poole, where he now sails her with his family.
